Canada Gazette Notices

Under Environment Canada’s GHG Emissions Reporting Program, a notice is published every year in Part I of the Canada Gazette, outlining the GHG reporting requirements for the corresponding calendar year. This annual notice can be found on the Canada Gazette website:

In the Canada Gazette Notice with respect to reporting of greenhouse gases for the 2010 calendar year, two changes have been made to the reporting requirements from previous years. These changes include:

  • A procedural requirement to inform the Department if a facility reporting in the previous year does not meet the current year reporting threshold; and
  • The addition of an administrative data element to be reported by the reporting company known as the D-U-N-S number. (The D-U-N-S number is a unique nine-digit identification sequence for a single business entity that also links corporate family structures together.)
